Sadaharu Tanigawa
Producer of Ganryujima

Martial arts events held around the world, such as UFC, ONE, Bellator and GLORY, have developed largely due to Japanese influence.
In the 1990s and 2000s, the global martial arts market was dominated by Japan, partly due to the unprecedented boom created by K-1 and PRIDE. More specifically, that boom was also created by the genetic inheritance of the history of Rikidozan and Antonio Inoki.
In other words, JAPANESE STYLE has made the history of martial arts in the world until now. Now, that Japanese martial arts are lagging the world.
Isn't it frustrating?
This project was set up to show the world once more the JAPANESE STYLE of martial arts.
If we work together, we can create great content that rivals the UFC. That is the mission of this project.
Ganryujima is an event that focuses on the specialty of the JAPANESE STYLE, the different types of combat sports. Please look at the uniqueness that you cannot find anywhere else!

Kazushi Sakuraba
Producer of QUINTET

QUINTET uses the Japanese martial arts format of ‘group matches without the team’.

This system is based on the altruistic strategy of prioritising team victory over individual victory and the spirit of bushido, with a set total team weight and no discrimination between individuals, meaning that there are many matches with a weight difference.

I would be happy if such moral values and culture could be introduced to the world through this JAPAN MARTIAL ARTS EXPO.

Carlos Kikuta
K-1 producer

Martial arts, and martial arts in general, are one of Japan's key content areas.

The recent 18 Emmy Awards for Disney's “SHOGUN” and its huge success have reminded us of this.

We are convinced that the concept of the JAPAN MARTIAL ARTS EXPO will further promote inbound and outbound Japanese martial arts through the cooperation and solidarity of various Japanese martial arts and martial arts organizations, supplements, sports gear and other related companies.

We at K-1 support this project and would like to help in any way we can.

Nobuyuki Sakaki󠄀hara
CEO, RIZIN FF

Let's show the world the appeal of the martial arts culture of Japan, the country of martial arts.

We would like to cooperate with you, even if it is only in a very small way.
